Meritus Drills 28.6 Meters Of 8.78 Grams Of Gold Per Tonne At Gutain Davaa, Mongolia (Audio Enhanced)
Vancouver, B.C. Meritus Minerals Ltd. (TSXV:MER) (TSX-V.MER) Meritus Minerals Ltd. has obtained very encouraging assay results from the first three holes in the 3,000m diamond drill program on the Tordogiin Shil Prospect on its Gutain Davaa Project in Mongolia.

All three holes encountered substantial widths of strong gold mineralization. Hole #TSDD 002 intersected 23.41 g Au/t over 8.80m including 62.82 g Au/t over 3.00m within a larger gold-bearing interval that averaged 8.78 g Au/t over 28.60 meters.
The other two diamond drill holes returned intersects of 8.05 g Au/t over 10.70m and 4.39 g Au/t over 7.30 meters. All reported intersects, tabulated below, and are near surface.

ii) Azimuth is in terms of True North
iii) Reported widths are drill intersection lengths
To speed up the program, and because of encouraging initial results, a second rig has been moved to site. This should allow completion of the program by mid October as initially planned.
Core from another six completed diamond drill holes have been delivered to the laboratory in Ulaan Bataar. Meritus anticipates drilling about 20 more holes at the Gutain Davaa Project over the next month or so and will continue to report results on a timely basis.
Surface work to access drill sites has exposed a high grade quartz vein, now known as the "Ninja Vein". This vein, which is only partially exposed, has now been sampled in four locations, one of which was previously reported (11/Aug/2010).
All results of sampling of this vein appear below. (From South to North)
i) Initial result. Reported 11/Aug/2010 1.80m 146.6 g Au/t
ii) 10m further north on vein (i)-new 1.39m 113.4 g Au/t
iii) 10m further north on vein (ii)-new .80m 122 g Au/t
iv) 5m further north on vein (iii)-new .50m 167 g Au/t
Drill core is transported from drill site to camp where it is logged and cut in half by diamond saw. One half of the core is retained for reference, the other half is sampled in approximately 1 metre intervals. Samples are transported to a laboratory in Ulaan Baatar, are crushed and completely pulverized to 90% passing 75 microns.
Two pulps are split from the pulverized sample. One set of pulps is retained by the laboratory for ICP analysis when required. The second set is forwarded to Meritus where sequentially numbered standards and blanks are included. This set of pulps is then forwarded to a second laboratory where fire assay for gold is carried out on a 30 gram charge. Finish is by AAS. Two standards and one blank are included with every 25 samples submitted. On receipt of results duplicates of selected pulps are forwarded to a third laboratory for check fire assay and to test the efficiency of the pulverization carried out by the preparation laboratory.
